FAQs

What is your shooting style?

I pride myself on capturing organic moments when they are happening in real time. I like to think of it like a high quality home video turned into a several minute movie. I want nothing more than for you to look back on the clips I take and show them to your future children/family. If I don’t get a clip of your cake topper or the groom’s cologne, it is likely because I am off capturing the tears, laughter, and love that will radiate from your special day. Trust me, you will definitely cherish these moments more than a pan shot of an inanimate object!

I am very much behind the scenes, no over the top directing going on here. After all, I am here to film moments that are authentic to you and the love you and your partner share.

As far as editing style and colors, I strive to create films that will stand to the test of time. I absolutely geek over creating films that are timeless. I want you to be able to watch your wedding day 10, 20, 30 years down the line and have the film feel like it was filmed yesterday.

How does the music selection work?

Music is SO important for wedding films. Since I legally have to license all of my music, I currently choose songs from a site called Musicbed! I love to receive direction on what style of music you and your partner are into (or even hate, that’s equally helpful!), so suggestions are always welcomed. I will try my best to find music that truly suits you and your partner, as well as the overall vibe of your day!

A plus side: When licensing music through these sites, you are actually supporting small artists that get a cut when I use their songs! Yay for small businesses!

When can we expect our film back?

Every wedding film I create is unique, and I spend many long hours finding the best snippets of memories from your special day. Finding music alone and editing it to flow well into something more customized can take a day’s work.

I do have a rough window of when I try to get your films back to you. Usually, I can produce a small one minute teaser within a week that will serve as an appetizer to hopefully hold you over until the full highlight film is complete. The goal for your final highlight film is 10-12 weeks. This is pretty standard for the industry! Please keep in mind that this is just a ballpark idea, and can ebb and flow with the demand of the industry, and my own personal life.

You will receive your film through an online transfer service called WeTransfer, where you will be able to download and save your film in a safe spot for years to come. If your desire your raw footage, I am happy to discuss options on how to go about that!

Is there anything that you don’t typically cover on the wedding day?

Absolutely! I typically do not spend too much time specifically on family portraits, since it could start to look like a straight up slideshow of poses and smiles. This is 1000% what your photographer is there for, trust me, they will get that group shot that you can hang on your wall for decades to come!

Instead, I focus more on in between moments of guests and family interacting with each other, the ones you may not see through the hustle and bustle of your wedding day. Again, I capture organic moments simply as they come. Lastly, I do not record clips of you or your guests eating, because absolutely nobody wants to be filmed while they are eating.

Do you work well with photographers?

Oh 100000000%! I have worked with some of the best photographers in the area, and cannot think of an instance where I felt tension with any photographer. I actually get most of my referrals from photographers, in fact, it might actually be why you are here right now!

I pride myself in being a more behind the scenes entity. I like to usually let the photographer take the reins (as they usually do). Rarely ever will I step in and direct specific shots, unless I feel like there are certain movements I think would look amazing. Most of the photographers I have worked with shoot and pose with a lot of movement. Those types of photographers are my jam because we can both get the shots we want in an efficient manner so that you have more time to relax and party on with your guests!

How do we book with you?

I am so and grateful you are here! In order to lock in your date, I require one of you to e-sign a contract with me that will be sent to your email once I gather all necessary information. From there I require a $400 deposit that can be paid through an invoice service that I will send to you once you are ready to book!

In addition, your final balance will be due one month before the wedding date, this is to get it out of the way and ensure you have ample time to focus on the more fun details of your day.

Payment plans are always welcomed, I can imagine how all of these expenses can pile up, so I’m here for ya!
